On Saturday 25 January 2025, Dans le Noir ? Luxembourg is delighted to repeat a unique sensory experience: a dinner concert in complete darkness, hosted by the talented international cellist Pierre Fontenelle. Following the brilliant success of his performance last year, Pierre is back to enchant Luxembourg audiences with a mix of classical, folk and contemporary music, in a totally immersive experience where the music is felt to the very depths of the senses.

This special evening invites you to rediscover listening without seeing, diving into a world where every vibration of the strings becomes a landscape of sound and emotion. The talent of Pierre Fontenelle, performing his pieces on a prestigious 1690 Ruggieri cello, will capture your imagination and awaken a symphony of sensations.

About Pierre Fontenelle

Pierre Fontenelle is a brilliant cellist, renowned in Luxembourg and beyond. With solid training from the Conservatoires of Luxembourg, Namur and Mons, he perfected his art at the Académie Jaroussky in Paris. At just 20, he was solo cellist at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège before turning to more daring projects. His first solo album, Roots, will be released in January 2025 on the Brussels label Cypres, and will feature contemporary American repertoire, a musical blend of classical, folk and world music.
In this intimate evening, he will perform works by classical composers such as Bach, as well as modern minimalist pieces, offering a diverse and emotional fresco of sound that will surprise and move you.

Evening programme

  • 7.00 – 7.30pm: Arrival of guests and aperitifs (optional)
  • 7.45pm: Briefing and instructions before the beginning of the experience
  • 8.00 pm: Dinner in the dark, punctuated by musical moments in total darkness
  • 9.45pm: Leaving the room for a concert in light this time
  • 10:00pm: Debriefing, where we show you pictures of what you have eaten
  • 10.30pm: End of the experience
